New BRICS Disability Grant
Broader Access to Financial Support
1. Disability Grant
For adults (18–59) who are medically certified as disabled—either temporarily or permanently.
2. Care Dependency Grant
For caregivers of children under 18 with severe disabilities who need permanent home-based care.
3. Child Support Grant (Top-Up / Additional Support)
A higher rate for caregivers of children with disabilities or special needs (with supporting medical documentation).
4. Grant-in-Aid
An additional grant for disability grant or older persons grant recipients who require full-time care from another person.
5. Social Relief of Distress (SRD Grant)
Available to persons with disabilities who meet financial hardship criteria (temporary support).
6. Foster Child Grant
For foster parents caring for children with disabilities placed in their care through the courts.

Who is eligible for the BRICS Disability Grant
Age: Between 18 and 59 years old.
Disability / Medical Condition: Must have a physical or mental disability that significantly affects the ability to work — and is expected to last at least 6 months (temporary grant) or more than 12 months (permanent grant).
Not Living in State-Funded Institution (or if you are, grant will be reduced): Applicants should not be maintained or cared for in a state-funded institution; receiving care in such an institution may affect eligibility or the amount granted.
